- Keep the henna paste on the skin as long as you can (overnight) or for at least 4-6hrs (hands and feet) or 8-10hrs (stomach, upper arms) The longer you leave the henna paste on, the darker it will be and the longer it will last.
- After waiting, you can let the dried paste naturally come off or rub the design with an oil (olive oil, vegetable oil, etc.) or lemon juice. Do not use water.
- It is best to not get your design wet (shower, pool etc.) for at least 12 hours after brushing off dried henna.
- To extend the life of the design, apply oil to the area before showers and avoid harsh chemicals and rubbing in the area of the design.
- The design will be an orange-ish color at first, but will darken over the following two days to a brown color.
- As your skin naturally exfoliates, the design will begin to fade. Everyone's skin is different, so there are no guarantees on how long it will last, however, most henna designs will last between 1-2 weeks.
